SPONSORSHIP INFORMATION
The Hispanic-American Women’s Association), also known as AHAM, was established as a non-profit organization in 1998. Since then it has
been dedicated to promoting the Hispanic folklore, culture, and traditions, while working to provide scholarship awards for high school
graduates of Hispanic descent, enabling them to continue their higher education, at the university, technical college or vocational school
of their choice. This is made possible through donations received from companies, businesses and from the private sector.
During its first year in 1999, AHAM awarded $1,000.00 to Sara Hooper, who continued her successful academic career at Clemson
University, graduating with a bachelor degree in education in 2003. A total of $27,300.00 have been awarded over the past 7 years. In 2006,
we disbursed a total of $15,000.00 in scholarships. In June 2007 we awarded a total of $20,000.00 in scholarships to 6 exceptional Hispanic
high school seniors, interested in furthering their education and their future in the Upstate. We are excited to announce that in May 2008
we awarded a total of $26,000.00 in scholarships to 16 brilliant high school senior students.
AHAM is thankful for your interest in helping Hispanic students in the Upstate. Your financial contribution will go towards next year’s
Scholarship Awards (2009), and with a $50,000.00 goal established, your support will be even more important than ever!
Your contribution to this noble cause is tax-deductible. Ninety percent of your contribution will go toward the scholarship fund and ten
percent will be utilized for administrative expenses. Your tax-deductible contribution will provide your company name with tremendous
exposure on AHAM’s website, as well as special mention during the AHAM International Gala.
