AHAM is the only Hispanic 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that, since 1999, has been dedicated to promoting higher education among high school students of Hispanic descent through educational scholarships in the Upstate, SC.  This is our 21st consecutive year granting scholarships for higher education.  The total amount that AHAM has awarded, as of 2018, is $335,300.

AHAM Scholarship Requirements

 Candidates must:

  1. Be of Hispanic origin or descent (from a Spanish speaking country, first or second generation)

  2. Have legal presence (U.S. citizen, resident, or DACA)

  3. Be a senior in a public or private high school in the Upstate counties of: Abbeville, Anderson, Cherokee, Greenwood, Greenville, Laurens, Oconee, Pickens, Spartanburg, and Union

  4. Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher

  5. Have received acceptance as a full time student at an accredited university, technical college or vocational school in the United States or USA territories

  6. Candidate’s family must make $60,000 or less in household income based on their previous  year's tax return

2019 AHAM Scholarship Awards

1st Place | $10,000 over 4 years

The 1st place category is our only 4-year scholarship.  The student awarded this prize will receive $2,500 for 4 consecutive years, for a total of $10,000.

2nd Place | $3,500

1 student will be selected for this prize

3rd Place | $3,000

1 student will be selected for this prize

4th Place | $2,500

2 students will be selected for this prize

5th Place | $2,000

2 students will be selected for this prize

6th Place | $1,500

1 students will be selected for this prize

7th Place | $1,000

1 students will be selected for this prize
